Curse of Elements Discussion

I wanted to discuss the use of Curse of Elements and when it should or should not be used in a raid. First off CoE should only be used in the raid when there is not an unholy DK using Ebone Plague (Your Crypt Fever morphs into Ebon Plague, which increases magic damage taken by 13%) or a boomkin spec'd for Earth and Moon as these abilities do not stack together or with CoE.

Now given that there is no DK or Boomkin in the raid with those specs then CoE should be used to benefit the raid. The question is if there is more than one warlock in the raid, which lock is going to use it? I think that if one of the locks is not affliction spec, then they are most likely not going to use Curse of Agony as much, and it would benefit the raid more if the non affliction spec lock used it.

If there is more than one affliction lock in the raid, then I think the lock with the lowest DPS should be the one using CoE as it would benefit the raid more having the lock with the highest DPS using CoA. This is something we can discuss and decide on so the raid leaders and officers don't have to worry about who is taking care of CoE in the raid.

Any thoughts?

When I think about it I try to tell someone to CoE, but I forget often.

I usually remember mid-raid and whisper the lock with the lowest damage to curse elements.

If I'm feeling like e-peening I'll make sure it's malediction, but I heard they're going to change CoE to always be 13%(Im' not sure where I heard this, but it seemed like one of those "future patch" discussions). Mostly I'm happy with just 10% extra damage if I can get it.

Ya in 3.1 it's going to be a straight 13% increase..thats kinda why I posted it the way I did because it won't matter what spec you are. It will be 13% for all locks.
