are bears still viable as tanks in WotLK? from what i have been hearing and reading the time for the feral druid as a huge tanking force is over. is there still a viable need for ferals in riad still? the off tank ability is still there from what i can see, and the obvious buff to your melee DPS. im wondering if its even worth leveling my druid if im not going to have any utility in a raid setting, and those who know me know i will never heal or go boomkin. so agian is there a place for a feral tank now? and if so what are some of the stats (HP/Armor/mitigation) that i need to get to before i start riading?

Druids are uncrittable by talents now againest raid-mobs without enhanced weapon skill or that have abilities that reduce defense rating. They are good in the OT roll, as far as a MT goes it depends on the fight, their bigger health pools are still a nice bonus, but with itemization warriors and pallies still push things off the table the fastest with higher avoidance numbers.

The nerf bat's still a-swinging for all tanks, really. I figure they'll all even out eventually. with limited avoidance skills compared to Pallies and Warriors, Druids have a bit more to overcome considering diminishing returns.

In the end I think all the tanks will be just as good s one another, and with dual specs, the "I can dps when not tanking" thing becomes a non-issue, as well. I'd say play what you love Smile Level them both and give em a spin.

Nerfed the hell out of my stam and armor with this last patch but gave me a shield that takes damage for 25% of my attack power whenever I crit with my attacks.

Gonna be interesting so see how that balances out - might have to move up to T1 Wink
