WOTLK Spec/Talent info

So, it was a given in BC that you raided affliction until you got hit cap and enough spell damage to drive the higher dps destruction specs. Given, not everyone adhered to that completely, but as a general rule, that's how it worked. I see now the hit cap is 445.

My question is, what spec "should" you raid until you hit that goal. I, for example, am in BC t5/6 level gear. Nothing I've read to this point has said "until you have xxx hit and xxxx spell damage, there's no point in raiding a certain spec. I'd love to hear your input on this. I don't forsee having the time to raid "alot" but when I do go, I'd like to be an asset and contribute as much as I can.

Haven't played my lock much since they killed destro, but from what i've heard the main dps build now is affliction.

If you're still wearing as much BC gear as you make it sound like you're going to have a really hard time getting anywhere near the hit cap unless you sacrifice an insane amount of damage and crit to get there.

I'm pretty sure there are a couple of BOE blues/ crafted items you could pick up the help you get to the hit cap.

Regardless of hit, affliction is the highest dps (Assuming you can time your dots effectively, etc.), but the faster you cap your hit, the better.

A ways down the page, they have a list of easily attainable hit gear. Try and get the hit trinket out of heroic VH, its got like 75 and a kickass use on it also.
