I am going to post my rotation that seems to work for me so others can use it or give advice on it or thoughts. This is just for boss fights and can change depending on if you get silenced or inturrupted. Then you have to adapt to each fight. This does not include Life tap, as I you have to calculate when you think the best time to use it would be. For example.. I try to wait until i have to move and life tap while moving. Or with 4 piece set bonus..you may want to life tap after every rotatation to get the spirit buff. I usually life tap only when i am down to under 10% mana if possible.

SL -> CoA -> Curr -> SB -> Haunt -> UA -> Imm -> SB -> SB -> Haunt -> SB -> UA -> Imm -> refresh what is needed (SL, CoA) repeat until 25%... at just before the boss gets to 25% you should get all your dots refreshed except Immolate and then just Drain Soul. The more affliction dots you have on your target...the more your DPS you are going to get from the Drain Soul. At 25% your Drain sould ability is increased by 400% damage.

The important thing during the fight is to keep a double stack of Shadow Embrace (which you get from Shadow Bolts and Haunt) You also want to keep Haunt up on the target at all times and refresh it just as it is wearing out. Haunt increases you total damage. It also refreshes Corruption so you don't have to cast it a second time. This rotation is best when you have a decent amount of haste. I currently have 18% haste unbuffed. But I've used it even when I had low haste. You just have to adapt a little bit based on casting speed.

So I know you switch to Drain soul(rank 6) at 25%. My lock is only lvl 73 so she doesn't have max rank yet. Four times normal damage is crazy.

Once you get to the 25% mark what spells do you try to keep up to get the most of soul siphon? Is shadow embrace an affliction effect, and should you weave in any SBs or Haunt to keep it up? Is it even worth casting anything else in there, DoTs or casted spells, or is the fight close enough to being over that you don't need to refresh if one drops off?

At about 28% I try to refresh ALL the affliction dots and a shadowbolt and then drain soul until I see that Haunt and UA are about to wear off. Then I reapply them and drain soul again until I see the SL and CoA about to wear off. Then I'll reapply all of em again and continue with the Drain Soul. The reason being is that for each affliction dot it increases the affect of Drain Soul by another 4%. Potentially you can increase it by a max of 20% with 5 dots. Then the added affect of the 400% buff for 25% health or less the DPS skyrockets. You can watch it climb. This varies on each boss of course, because some still take a while to get from 25% down. But I try to keep as many dots on as possible for maximum DPS. It seems to pay off by taking the few seconds to refresh them.

That's individually. If you have 3 locks in raid, you could take it to 60%, if they're all maintaining full dots.

They nerfed this in 3.1... max effect is now 18% and only counts your own spells
